Maj. rhonda cornum
Maj. Rhonda Cornum was a helicopter pilot in the US Army during Desert Storm. On February 27, 1991, she was on a mission to rescue an Air Force pilot shot down in Iraq. Her crew was shot down and she was taken prisoner by the Iraqis. She had multiple injuries, including both of her arms being broken and a gunshot wound in her back. For her heroic actions behind enemy lines, she received the Bronze Star, the Purple Heart and the Distinguished Flying Cross.
